GSBDC Honors M & T Bank and Solvay Bank with "Bank of The Year Award"
M & T Bank and Solvay Bank were the recipients of GSBDC's first annual "Bank of The Year Award." The award is based upon the number of loan referrals from participating lending institutions. Both Solvay Bank and M & T Bank referred the same number of projects to GSBDC in 2004.
Paul Mello, President & CEO of Solvay Bank and Lee DeAmicis, Administrative Vice-President, Business & Professional Banking of M & T Bank accepted the award on behalf of their banks. Lance McKee, Partner, Dannible & Mckee, LLP and Chairman of GSBDC, along with Peggy Adams, Executive Director of GSBDC, presented the awards.
The Greater Syracuse Business Development Corporation (GSBDC), the chamber's financing arm, delivers economic development loan programs to the business community of Central New York. GSBDC had a record year with fourteen projects totaling almost $20,000,000 with GSBDC's participation in excess of $5,000,000. Combined, these companies currently employ more than 500 and are projected to create over 160 jobs during the next two years.
